2010 Design Awards Winners
"Eye on Design"

E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center at Nokuse Plantation by Wallrapp Architecture and Interior Design and pv+r takes top honor.

This years Design Awards Reception was held on Friday, July 16th at the Lion's Eye Institute in Ybor City.  Design Awards Chair, Ed Hoffman, AIA and chapter President, Andrew Hayes, AIA presented 15 awards of merit and honor.  The design awards drew 54 entries this year and approximately 180 attendees were on hand to witness the presentation.  The awards were juried by award-winning Fort Lauderdale architects Robert G.(Bob)Currie, FAIA, Principal of Currie Sowards Aguila Architects;  Steven Boruff, Principal of Steven L. Boruff, AIA Architects and Planners, Inc. and Don Yoshino, FAIA, Principal of Yoshino Architects.

Architectural Records 1st Annual
Cocktail Napkin Contest

After being deluged with 1,322 cocktail napkins, bearing sketches from 352 architects and architecture students, Archiectural Record's jury of editors has determined the winners of its first annual Cocktail Napkin Contest.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is the professional association for architects and those in the architecture field. AIA Tampa Bay is the regional chapter representing more than 600 architects and architectural intern members in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Hernando, Citrus, Sumter and Pasco Counties. The AIA provides programs and services including educational programs, design competitions, community service programs and serves as the united voice of the architecture profession.
