2023 Call to Artists / Call for Entries – New Award ‘Objects’
AIA Tampa Bay is inviting students, architects, artists, designers, and artisans to participate in an open competition to create a new award "object" for their annual Design and Honor awards presented at Celebrate Design in November.
The winning design will be presented to the winners of the design and honor awards at the gala for a minimum of five and a maximum of seven years. The designer of the winning object will receive recognition at the 2023 Celebrate Design Reception.

July 7, 2023 PDF entries due to Dawn@aiatampabay.com by 5:00 p.m.
AIA TB Board Members to Jury entries and select object.
July 24, 2023 Winning Award notified.
August 21, 2023 Selected prototype object due at AIA Tampa Bay office to coordinate production for 2023 Celebrate Design.
The new award "object" must meet specific design criteria:
Object must be a one-of-a-kind unique, original design, for exclusive use of AIA TB
Object to be made from readily sourced sustainable materials.
Object must be easily replicable by local means. High quality material 3D printed or 3d assembled designs encouraged.
Cost of object should be included and is considered as part of entry evaluation. Budget should be less than $175 per unit.
A narrative to include fabrication methodology and optional fabricator sources (local preferable)
Maximum size of approximately 6 X 6-inch X 12-inch and weighing no more than three pounds.
Award title and recipients name must be clearly displayed and be the focus of the award.
Must include AIA Tampa Bay name / logo.
Presentation format is free, maximum of 3 letter size pages in PDF format one side.
Must include scaled drawings with dimensions and materials clearly assigned.
AIA Tampa Bay reserves the right to change, amend, modify, suspend, continue, or terminate all or any part of the competition either in an individual case or in general, at any time without notice.
AIA TB will hold copyrights to the object.
Registration:
Kindly provide your contact details via email, including your Name, title, address, and email information. Upon receipt, you will be assigned a distinct number, along with PDF templates for your convenience. It's important to note that all submissions remain anonymous. The registration period will commence on June 7 conclude on July 7th. Please ensure that your submissions are sent by 5 PM on July 7th.
