Voice of Architecture '24
Join us for our 6th annual Voice of Architecture, Economic Outlook panel discussion and reception. This program centers around a survey of our members. Architects are often the first stop for developers when planning projects. Their answers allow us to report on economic indicators that predict real estate development and construction activity in the Tampa Bay area for the coming year. Join our panels of experts to hear their interpretation of the results and their own insights on what’s ahead this year.
Angela Hendershot, AIA
Angela Hendershot is a Principal at Rowe Architects Incorporated and is proud to follow the example of architectural excellence and AIA engagement set by firm founder, H. Dean Rowe. She has been an Adjunct Professor in both design and physics courses for aspiring architects, and has been active in AIA Tampa Bay (as an AIATB Board Member from 2017 – 2021.) Angela is also an alumna of Leadership Tampa Bay (2018), and a former Board of Directors Member and President of the Tampa Lighthouse for the Blind.
Angela took an unconventional path to architecture, first earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from FSU. While working for an art gallery in NYC, she spent a lot of time looking at buildings, and wondering why the Seagram Building is so much more beautiful than all the other glass and steel skyscrapers on Park Avenue… Setting her sights on architecture (as a vocation, not just a job,) she returned to Florida and earned a Master of Architecture from the University of South Florida’s School of Architecture and Community Design in 2005. One of the best parts of working in a small firm is that every day presents a new challenge, and most of Angela’s architectural work focuses on education projects (K-12 and higher education) as well as historic preservation.
